Carcassonne—first real sunny day

As usual we rose early, and for the first time it was sunny, so we took a walk along the Canal du Midi. We walked out for an hour, turned around, and then returned—just right. Lots of locals jogging and riding bikes along the tow path. A beautiful Sunday morning.

On our way back to the apartment we stopped at the boulangerie for a baguette and a couple of quiches for a late supper tonight. Read and napped a bit before heading out to La Cite to explore parts of the castle grounds we hadn't yet. Amazing how many people had the same idea. And it's not even the high season yet. It must be a madhouse in the summer.
