It's Saturday morning and that means market day. Even though we're not really cooking, it's fun walking through Place Carnot and dreaming up what we might prepare. Eyeballing all this fresh food prepared us for our specialty lunch at a restaurant we scoped out last week up at the La Cite.

We ran into Alecia and her mom four days ago on the train
to Monserrat. And here they are again in Carcassonne at
the same restaurant. Wouldn't be a bit surprised to see them
again before we leave in a week as they too have
an apartment here. |

The fabulous duck and pork cassoulet. She's
a happy camper.

And so is he. |

It's a hearty and scrumptious meal. |

Just liked how this set the ambience inside
the restaurant.

Where we had cassoulet. A week ago we
noticed they specialized in the dish AND
charged 7 Euros less than restaurants a
few narrow streets away at the center of
the medieval city. Once again, get off the
main drag and you get a danged good meal
for a danged good deal. |

Our first selfie from Pont Vieu. Is that a castle
in the background?
