Day 7: Marie is resting. The Panadol the pharmacist gave us for her head cold only helped a little, so after purchasing Metro tickets for our trip to the airport tomorrow (and more Kleenex), I stopped by Boa Vista Pharmacy for something stronger. Got a nasal spray and some Actifed. Together they should help clear her sinuses before flying to Zurich. Marie will spend today resting, sleeping I hope. Not sure what I'll do on another sunny day.

This is the original store front tile now on display inside the pharmacy. |
A few goodies anyone? |

The owner. She doesn't speak English but knowing how to say good day and thank you in Portuguese, along with pointing and smiling while asking for cafe con leche, is all that's needed in this context. |
Zenith serves brunch all day every day and the 20-somethings are just having breakfast at 1PM. We returned on our last full day for lunch. |
The bucket with your table number is where they put your napkins and silverware. When finished you tell the cashier your table number and up pops your bill. Wifi is magic. |
We sat at a table on the wide sidewalk but inside is equally popular. |
I ordered banana bread flambé with fruit and blackberry and banana puree. This was refreshing and the light lunch I was hoping for. |
Marie ordered eggs Benedict. Zenith knows eggs and offers at least a dozen combinations over Portuguese sourdough toast. |
Marie had orange juice and I ordered lemonade coffee. One shot of espresso mixed with sparkling lemonade with a a mint sprig. Odd combo but delicious. |
